About this place
For an evening meal at Rakusho Sakaba, the chiritori hot pot for two is an obvious place to start. Its vegetable set includes kimchi, garlic chives, bean sprouts, cabbage and onion; choose from pork belly, offal and chicken thigh to add to the pot. Some diners have praised the mild seasoning and recommend finishing with udon. Chinese-style noodles are another option, as is a cheese-rich risotto served with egg, so you can decide whether to end the meal with noodles or rice.
On an evening when you would rather not gather around a hot pot—or simply want to begin with a single dish—try chicken tempura with pickled plum or grated daikon with ponzu and wagyu beef tendon. Some diners recommend these two dishes. For fried food, the menu also offers chicken cutlet and pork cutlet with a choice of house-made sauce or grated daikon ponzu. Plum wine is among the drinks, and diners have also mentioned enjoying it with their meal.
Lunch centres on set meals served with rice, miso soup and three small side dishes. The chicken nanban set costs 950 yen and the chicken cutlet set 900 yen; extra rice is available at no charge. For a quick takeaway, there are also fried chicken, sweet-and-sour meatball and stir-fried vegetable bento boxes, each for 600 yen.
For something sweet, both the black-syrup-and-roasted-soybean-flour ice cream and the vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate cost 480 yen. With set meals at lunch, hot pot and individual dishes in the evening, and bento boxes to take away, the choices suit different mealtimes and party sizes.
